Cold air leaking from your windows can lead to annoying drafts and energy loss. But by correctly adding window shrink around your windows you can reduce heat loss, in turn saving you money. (Energy Star)

Tools You’ll Need

Shrink Film Window Kit
Tape Measure
Scissors
Blow Dryer

A How-To Guide From Do it Best

Apply double-face tape around the outer edge of the frame and on the bottom of protruding sills.
Press firmly – wait 15 minutes to make sure the tape adheres securely.
Remove backing paper from tape across the top of the frame.
Unfold film and allow at least 1 inch overhang on all sides.
Hold the plastic sheet at both upper corners and apply it to the tape.
Repeat the process for the sides.
To avoid excess wrinkles, smooth out the surface.
Remove backing paper from tape at the bottom of the frame and apply film.
Starting at a corner, move a hair dryer (at its highest setting) slowly across the film until all the wrinkles have disappeared.
Trim excess film with scissors or a razor blade.
